Mother’s day is in just a few days and I thought to myself what would be a great gift for the beautiful mother that is reading this post. And the idea that came to my mind is, she deserves to be celebrated.
So today, I celebrate YOU.
The one who shows up for her kids day and night.
Who’s sacrificed your sleep, your body, your time, and your energy, all for your children.
Who as a new mom, had no idea what you were doing, and second guessed yourself too many times to count, but learned on the job and grew as you went. And even though you still don’t have all the answers, you never stop showing up for your kids.
You still struggle, and even cry sometimes because of how hard it gets, but you still keep going.
You still strive to do your best and want the best for your kids. And you do everything you can to give it to them.

Here’s to YOU.
Though you may often feel like maybe you’re not cut out for this mom gig, that’s far from true, because time after time, you’ve proven that you are.
From the times you got up in the middle of the night with tissue for their runny noses, or tea and the biggest hug when they had tummy aches.
To laying next to them until they fell asleep.
To nurturing boo-boos, calming meltdowns, and consistently putting their needs before your own.
To paying attention to all the details that would get missed, if not for you. Like keeping track of the appointments, and school spirit days, and having clothes ready to go when you see that the old ones are getting outgrown.
Here’s to YOU.
For making your kids laugh and cheering them up when they’re down, even when you may not be feeling that great yourself.
For the way that you constantly worry about your kids, and everything concerning them, because that’s just the type of caring mother that you are.
For watching your children grow up, and growing up right alongside them.
For the way that you would do absolutely anything for your children because your love for them runs so deep.
For consistently striving to be the patient and compassionate mother that you know your children need you to be.
And for losing yourself and finding yourself again, but never quite being the same, because motherhood has changed you.
It’s helped you grow up and taught you things about yourself through trial and error. Through the highs and lows that parenting brings.
It’s helped you become the amazing woman that you are today.
So today we’re celebrating YOU.
One of, if not, THE MOST valuable person in your children’s lives.
Even though you may not always feel like you’re the best mom or have days where you feel like you’re struggling more than you’re thriving, there are people on the sidelines wondering how you make it look so easy.
So even when you’re feeling worn out, exhausted, or feeling like the job you’re doing doesn’t matter or isn’t good enough, remember that YOU, my friend, have perhaps the most challenging and most worthwhile job of all.
And YOU were specifically chosen to be the mother of your kids because you have something special that only YOU can give them. And no one can mother your kids like you can.
You deserve your roses today.
In fact, you deserve a standing ovation for your efforts, for your selflessness, for your morning shifts and night shifts, and every shift in between.
You deserve every bit of attention, praise and appreciation you receive not only on this special day, but every day.
SO, Here’s to YOU!
As others celebrate you this Mother’s Day, make sure that you also take time to celebrate yourself. Be proud of yourself for filling the big shoes that come with being a mom.
You are the REAL MVP.
